For the first time, a one-day race and ride is offered on the legendary trails of the Shannahan area of the Bras du Nord Valley. Experience the 5th and final day of the QSE, as you tackle the 45 kilometer course that follows waterfalls and cascades to the Valley’s most beautiful vistas. Shortened routes are also available for less experienced cyclists. This is a great opportunity to combine a race on Friday with a family stay in the area the following days.

Stage
Stage 5 – Vallée Bras-du-Nord – Shannahan SECTOR
Shannahan is the wild side of the Valley, where the trails blend into the spectacular natural surroundings. The trails are never far from the waterfalls, cascades and rivers that have forged the beautiful landscape. The “sweet” trails (Beurre d’érable, Sucre d’orge, Tartosuc, etc.) are the perfect spot to learn mountain biking, with easy, flowy trails through a maple grove or leading to spectacular waterfalls.
Epic and world-renowned trails are also a delight for experts, both for their layout and for the views they offer.

Cumulative podiums will take place at the Centre multifonctionnel Rolland Dion in Saint-Raymond (160 Pl. de l’Église, Saint-Raymond, QC G3L 1G4), during the closing dinner and Qué-Bikers ceremony.
In teams, the time of the 2nd cyclist crossing the finish line is recognized as the official team time.
Daily and cumulative rankings will be published for categories in “competition” mode, as well as for participants registered in riding mode. Times for participants in riding mode will be published for information purposes only in a single category called “out-of-competition”, and these will not be eligible for podium finishes.
Shorter alternative routes will be offered at each stage. Participants in riding mode may opt for these shorter courses. Competitors in “competition” mode will have to complete the entire course. Competitors from the “competition” mode taking a shortened course will receive a time penalty.
ELECTRIC ASSISTED BIKES
Class 1 electric bikes are accepted, but only on a non-competitive basis. They must therefore register in touring mode. They must avoid interfering with racers or hikers by excessive speed or reckless or unannounced passing.
Race mode vs ride mode
The QSE is for serious racers as well as for the weekend warrior, who lives the event for fun and for whom competition is not a goal. When you register, you will have to choose which of these two options suits you best.
RACE MODE
The QSE in race mode is for those who are used to stage races and want to push their limits and fight for the daily and cumulative podiums. They compete against other competitors in their age category, in teams of two or solo. They must complete the full distances of each stage to be included in the official results. If they fail to complete a stage, their results will appear in the “Out of Competition” section with those of the ride mode participants.
RIDE MODE
Forget the stopwatch, go at your own pace. Stop to take pictures. Opt for a shortened course if you don’t feel up to it. In short, have fun! You will have a chip plate like the racers, but you will not appear in the official race standings. Your time for the day is still listed in the “unclassified” section of the results.

One of the best mountain bike stage races out there!
The Quebec Singletrack Experience is one of the best mountain bike stage races out there! Most mountain bike stage races are heavy on the double track and leave you wanting more singletrack, but the QSE is different from the rest. True to its name, It's almost entirely incredible singletrack! The Vallée Bras du Nord- Shannahan Sector stage was one of the best days I've ever had on a bike. I've been racing mountain bikes all over the world for twenty years so that is saying A LOT! I've ridden in some really gorgeous places, and this stage tops most of them. Seriously. I am so excited to come back for the 2023 edition. The morning after this fantastic event. Sitting having a cup of coffee and relaxing.
Thinking back on all the hard work you folks put into this event. You have a winner. Keep up the great work. From start to finish, there has been no errors in organization that I have heard of or seen. Just wow. The trails chosen were perfect and challenging. I will recommend this even to all that will listen. I stayed off site and enjoyed Québec city living with my wife. Not sure what else to say. But thanks to all the event volunteers.Congratulations to the QSE team.
Everything here is perfectly groomed. The trails are amazing, and the vibe is simply magic. The QSE is the perfect summer camp for adult, in a unique and historical city!BCBR was fantastic but for many reasons I preferred the QSE.
The QSE trails are as good as BCBR but the variety in Québec is unique. Because of the permanent base camp downtown Québec, there is no packing and unpacking every day. That simple and perfectly tight logistic transfers into huge time and money savings for the riders. The price is less than half of other races. The vibe in Québec is unbelievable both on and off the bike. To me, the opening night ride in Old Québec was a highlight. Why am I coming back here every year?
First: quality of trails. Second: variety of trails. Third: amazing pricing for what is offered. On top of that, having a permanent base camp where we come back every day, gives you time to visit the oldest and only fortified city in America. It is a major advantage, compared to other races where you are moving every day. It leaves you no time to go around and visit. The event3 days package
